At the moment my current strategy of pencil outlines and digital colouring appear to be coming on nicely, with the pictures done in a reasonable length of time. If I had known I would have improved so fast I would have delayed my contest entry to the Kiseki contest 31st July, but I suppose I'll have a better chance of winning the next contest I enter. My ArtRage work files for drawings done this way are huge, so I'm not keeping them, just the lineart and the finished piece.
I did fleetingly have an idea last night of drawing finished pieces using pencil, complete with shading, but that is beyond me at the moment, I am rather cautious of changing my lovely finished pencil outlines with shading which may ruin it all . I really like digital colouring, the fact that the original can still be saved. I also had an idea last night of posting more acrylic on canvas works, but at the moment bit short of art materials for this. Also if I keep changing mediums my energy gets dissipated and I never get to really perfect a certain skill. For example Wen-M follows a strategy where he draws with a technical pencil, then scans the drawing then colours it in Photoshop. That's all he ever does and he does it well.
Update: Considering entering the Zen Master Challenge 11th July, TwistedFates Character Design Contest, A Splash of Colour Contest, arcturus17's Challenge, KeeganR's contest.
Update: Found some art that was lost from my backup but in my DA gallery. There were only a few pieces missing. Makes me feel really thankful for these online galleries. Finished the Zen Master Challenge. the finished piece could have been more detailed, but overall I am satisfied with the result. Considering entering Draw Hoshi contest 30th July. I have switched my software from ArtRage to openCanvas 1.1, the latter program has a better feel to it which invites fine work.
Update: Received a tip from daniel-w to keep pencils sharp for a better effect, just tried it on my B pencil and my picture now looks a lot better. Finished the Draw Hoshi contest entry. Considering entering Snowy-Ninja's contest 15th July. I think I will get through my current list of contests before adding new ones, next time I add a list of contests I will keep it within seven to keep up with TimberClipse's weekly list. I keep going back to my Shadowgale Serious picture and thinking it could have been better, will probably delete it after the contest winners have been announced on 25th July.
Update: Finished Snowy-Ninja's contest entry. Considering entering The Lost Kids Art Contest 1st August. I've decided to only talk about art on DA.
Update: Finished The Lost Kids Art contest entry. I think that's the last contest entry I'll do in a while, all those character specifications detract me from my final image. And of course the final image is all-important. That concludes my one a day drawing challenge!
Update: Decided to ditch pencil and paper in favour of drawing on the tablet in openCanvas only. I've had so much feedback from the forums regarding how the digital medium was faster than traditional methods, and about practising on the tablet as much as possible. Also if you left me a comment on my artwork I will leave a comment on your artwork.

I have decided to do some writing as well! This I find somewhat easier than drawing, so keep tuned!
My style is mainly fantasy, but I do some related genre work as well, such as science fiction, alternative reality, medieval. I love writing long stories, but sometimes short stories are more accessible to online readers.
Ever since I have learnt to touchtype I have managed to do all sorts of wonderful things with text on a computer. Some time I must play typershark again, just to see how good I am.
All of my public writing I do on sta.sh, which has this awesome autosave function. Evidently the disk that they have the work stored on is
New work in Scraps
I got reminded today of how important it is to have the right tools when painting. Finally today I have produced something worthy to show my family, it's in scraps because it looks hurried, but it could have gone into my main gallery, and I'm happy with it. I plan to digitally paint every day, even if it's only for an hour, I'm very busy but art keeps me going. Also wouldn't it be cool to become a concept artist and get paid for doing something you really like. Though my current job is fascinating enough, the grass always seems to be greener on the other side. If I ever become a concept artist I will probably daydream of being something else
I'll comment on yours if you comment on mine
Repeating the last bit of my last journal entry, if you comment on any of my pictures I'll comment on your pictures. I'm currently waiting for the contest results to the Kiseki contest 31st July, the Zen Master Challenge 11th July, Draw Hoshi contest 30th July, Snowy-Ninja's contest 21st July, The Lost Kids Art Contest 8th August. Also I have just discovered a great way of copying pictures when the canvas goes off the screen - simply start off with a canvas within the screen, then later enlarge the canvas and continue the picture. I'm practising my colouring with openCanvas, which at the moment seems to fall short of its objective.

Back on DA
Today I'm back on DA again after a long time away from it, drawing just seems to be something I can't live without. I've decided to concentrate on real subjects rather than fantasy ones as my drawing is something which I show other people, as real life is always far more interesting.
Somewhat annoyingly I haven't been able to find where I kept the master copies of my old art, and I might have overwritten them, but never mind that's hardly what's important. Isn't it good my online gallery is still here.
Update: Actually I have found my master copies, I suppose because I liked them so much I took care of it. I have found all of my old digital
